This book is incredible. It is fully loaded with the written transcriptions of many different “grooves” for example how to play Funk grooves. Then there is a play along cd without drums for you to practice to. There are examples of cds/artists who play this kind of “groove”. I purchased it from Amazon , along with Tommy’s Groove Essentials Dvd where he plays each of these grooves-so many styles of drumming. This is great for beginners to intermediate, then he has Groove Essentials 2.0 for more. I highly reccommend getting the book and cd combination, along with the dvd. When you have mastered these, you can move up to Groove 2,0 You can get both from Amazon in different packaging combinations. This is a MUST HAVE. I cannot sy enough. Books Like these will make drum teachers almost obsolete, that is how comprehensive it is
